Black Bear Hunting

Our bear hunts are fully guided. When bear hunting with us we will provide you with your accommodations, your license and tag, an active, pre-baited stand, tracking and retrieval, skinning and freezing.

Ontario Black Bear Hunting A definite asset to your hunt with us is our Karelian Bear Dog. He has a remarkable track record.

Our bear management area is over 2,000 square kilometers in size. This extra large BMA produces an abundance of high quality bears. As in the past, we took some big bruins again this year, several over 500 pounds.

Our hunts are designed for the serious hunter. These wild animals are intelligent with a keen sense of sight and smell. Reducing movement and eliminating human scent will definitely increase your odds of success.

If you would like more information about our bear hunt, please email us. We’d be glad to email or send you a complete package.

The slow economy from 2008 to 2010 has resulted in less hunters coming to Ontario and combined with the cancellation of the spring Black Bear hunt; it has resulted in a population explosion of Black Bears in Ontario. Traditional population assessments report 195,000 Black Bears in Ontario but recent updates are suggesting there could be closer to 600,000 Black Bears in Ontario. Bears are being forced to move south and into populated areas as far south as Southern Ontario. Black Bears have even been captured just north of Toronto where there have not been any bears for 130 years.

As a result, success rates are much higher. Bear hunting guests are actually confident enough to pass on nice size bears and wait for the big trophy boars. Our Black Bear hunting management area (BMA) is just north of Lake Superior in a region where there are no roads or people. Our bear hunt is actually more remote then camps farther north. We are father south with a longer growing season so Black Bears are bigger and healthier and more concentrated. Now is the time to get your trophy bear and this is the place where you will find him!!
